Jules's Lipsticks Review (Guest Post)

Saturday 8 March 2014

My name is Jules and I am the writer of the brand new beauty blog, LippyLikes

I guess its obvious from the name what my passion is so when the beautiful Courtney asked me to do a guest post on some of my current lippy favs, I couldn't wait to get started.

First up from my list of Lippy Loves is the Clinique Chubbystick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus. What I really love about this product is that for me it performs as a three in one item. It gives the full coverage and soft satin finish of a high end lipstick. It applies as smoothly and feels as moisturising as you would expect from any lip balm. And when the balm wears off you are left with a long lasting Lip Stain that on me lasts easily three or four hours before I need to reapply. The colour is great, a bright raspberry red which can be worn day or night. I love the delivery system, it looks like a crayon but with no meed for a sharpener, you take off the lid, swivel up the product and apply straight onto the lips. I like to apply a lip liner but you don't need to with this. The price is relatively expensive at £17 each but Debenhams are currently selling it for a  bargain £15.30 here.

My next choice would be the Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in shade 107 by Rimmel of London. This is a deep Cranberry shade which is perfect for this season. It applies straight from the bullet with a strong colour payoff. Despite being a matte shade it feels creamy on the lips and not at all drying. What I love about matte lipsticks is how long they last before I need to reapply and this one gave me a good 4 hours. I paid £5.50 for this but found it discounted by a whopping £3.51 at fragrance direct meaning you pay just £1.99. Bargain of the year. Check it out here.

I couldn't do a lipstick post without mentioning my favourite brand for lipstick, yes MAC. I really struggled to pick a single favourite but after much huffing and puffing I settled on Rebel.

I know this is pretty scary in the tube, I was wary at first too. Applied to the lips however it is much less intimidating, a gorgeous plummy pink which is perfect for this time of year. It is a satin finish so not as flat a finish as the matte nor as drying, but it is just as long lasting as it seems to stain the lips so that even when the sheen wears off the colour just lasts and lasts.

So these are my favourite shades, what are yours? What don't you enter my MAC GIVEAWAY where the winner gets to select her top 3 shades and I buy them for her. Worldwide entries welcome, check it out here

Love your guest post! I like all Clinique products. It's a bit expensive, but worth of it.
I don't know why, I can't leave comments on your blog.
