Shirt: Fosby via Charity Shop
Skirt: H&M
Ring: New Look

Mumsy saw this shirt in a Charity Shop the other day and thought it was so 'me', so she nicely went and purchased it for me, for only £6 too! The detailing on it is so pretty and feminine and unfortunately the photos really don't do it justice. Such a nice twist on a plain white shirt. I decided to wear this with a simple purple tube skirt, i didn't want to over power the outfit by adding too much as i really wanted the detailing to be the main focus point, and i think with the white shirt sitting over the purple skirt has really helped achieve this. Tiny bit of jewellery added today too.

Any of my UK readers that watch Britains Got Talent will most likely recognise these lyrics. They're written by talented Gabz who's 14 and has landed herself a place in the finals of BGT. I genuinely can't get her song out of my head, you can listen to it here. I'm seriously hooked on BGT this year haha! I'm off to see my psychiatrist in a bit, hopefully i can get off these tablets which make me crave carbs like crazy, seriously need to lose a lot of weight! Hope y'all have a good weekend. P.S - i promise i'll try be a better blogger come June!

EDS Event.

Monday, 27 May 2013

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a genetic connective tissue disorder that affects collagen proteins in the body making them defective. There are six different types of EDS, but i have type 3, Hypermobility. Collagen, to put it simply is more or less the glue that holds our body together, and it is found in tendons, ligaments, cartilage, skin, bone, the gut and spine. With having EDS Type 3, my life is very difficult. I suffer badly from fatigue, i bruise very easily, and in other words i'm just quite fragile. I'm lucky that i've only ever had one dislocation, but something i have to be aware of is the fact that my joints are likely to dislocate due to this. The only good thing about EDS is that i'm blessed with soft velvety skin and i don't even moisturise! I'm also in constant pain. I have to see an Occupational Therapist, a Physio and i'm on the waiting list to see a Stomach Specialist and a Health Psychologist. Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is known as a rare condition and therefore having this condition makes me a medical zebra. There is no cure for this condition, just management. There is a lot more to it than just what i've said so if you would like to know anymore, feel free to tweet me. You can find out more about EDS here.

On Saturday i went to my first EDS event, which was a Spring Family Fete held in Watford. I got to meet others suffering with the same illness. Here are a few photos from the event.

Dress: Tesco
Blazer: Topshop
Necklace: New Look
Different location for my photos just for today as it was pouring with rain outside, and as our house is being done up, i took full advantage of the blank wall haha. This blazer features in many of my outfit posts, since buying it, it's definitely my favourite item in my wardrobe! This dress is very 40's, so i tried to put my own twist on it, by adding the gold necklace and trying to modernize it a bit with the added blazer too. I love the black & white dots, anything black and white just always looks so smart!

So i'm waiting on my friend who i'm going for drinks with tonight, first time going out without my mum in about a month, so a big step for me. I'm also meant to be going to an EDS Fete tomorrow, will be good to meet some fellow sufferers! Busy weekend for me, but i really need to start stepping out my comfort zone otherwise i'm not going to get anywhere in life. I hope y'all have a good weekend.

Beanie: Etsy
Blazer: Topshop
Dress: Lovestruck
Bracelets: New Look
I got this dress as a thankyou present for modelling for their website, they were lovely and i really enjoyed modelling some of their beautiful pieces. Some of their pieces are really me and i felt so comfortable in their clothes. The dress sits really nicely and i love the shade of blue it is, it's not too overpowering, it's just a lovely calm shade. I think the pink blazer really compliments the blue, and i'm a huge fan of this Charity Shop blazer so any excuse to wear it, i'll take. The beanie just kind of brings it all together, i felt the outfit was a bit plain without it and needed an oomph.

Sorry for lack of posts this month, i've been extremely depressed and my confidence has managed to hit rock bottom again and i'm finding it hard to leave the house again. I have no idea why or where this has come from but it's hard, very hard. I plan to have a positive week starting Monday, going to start a healthy food diet and try keep busy, i really need to find a purpose in life again.

Shirt: Next
Blazer: Vintage
Skirt: New Look
This shirt is infact another Charity Shop find! I really do find so many lovely pieces in Charity Shops and it's definitely worth taking the time to look. When i saw this shirt i knew it was just so 'me' and would be a great addition to my wardrobe! I'm a sucker for anything black or white so this black and white check shirt is just perfect. This vintage blazer will always be a favourite of mine, it was my Grandmas' so it will always be special to me and i absolutely love the colour.

I've got my first EDS physio session in a bit which i'm really looking forward to. Hopefully i can finally discuss using walking aids/supports as the pain constantly in my back and hips is just ridiculous now, lying flat in bed is an absolute killer! Starting today i'm really trying to look at things more positively and put into practice what my Occupational Therapist said about pacing.
