OOTD & Scotts Birthday

Thursday 16 December 2010

Just a little something i threw together really, BUT i think the outcome of this outfit has actually been pretty successful! The top i'm wearing is actually a tunic which i've tucked in, and is from the petite range. I think the fastening around the bust area is really cute and doesn't overshadow the piece either, which i appreciate! The cord shorts i'm wearing are my new best frend! I love them and they're so so comfortable! The rust colour is so on trend this season, and looks so good against black in my opinion, hence why i'm wearing black leggings. I decided on leggings over tights for warmth if i'm honest, would of much preferred tights but it's freezing! The belt came with the shorts and is actually dark brown, but looks black from a distant and i could be bothered to change it to a black one, don't think you can really tell though!? My long black cardigain goes quite nicely, covers my bare arms which keeps me warm and goes well with the outfit, as does my camel scarf. Currently i wear everything with UGG boots at the moment, but thats for my own security of wearing grippy shoes in these conditions as i can't afford to slip while on my crutches. Usually, i would probably wear my shiny black brogues, as it would bring the whole outfit together. Not that you can see them, but i am infact wearing little gold heart earrings, once again i'm wearing gold as silver would make the look look tacky. Also, gold goes with a burgandy or rust colour a lot better than silver would.

It's my 'little' brothers 15th birthday today, (we're only two days apart!!) he was so excited to finally be 15, as it made him feel proper mighty! The reason i put the word in inbreaveated commas as because he may be my little brother, but he looks a lot older right!? To much annoyance, the present i got for him from Topman did not arrive this morning for him to open along with the rest of his presents, but it did come when he got home. I got him a dark purple polo shirt which has white outlines around the arms and buttony bit by the neck down. He said he really likes it, and infact the colour really suits him, which i'm so so happy about!

As promised, i did make him his birthday biscuits! I used a plain for simple iced biscuits recipe from the BBC website, and iced them and spelt out 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY!'. He came in with a friend and they devoured them, i think the only letters left are a 'H' and a 'T'

Also, if your a UK resident and haven't done so already, be sure to enter my Christmas Giveaway ending on 25th december! go go go!!
