Becky's Top Winter Nail Varnishes (Guest Post)

Tuesday 10 December 2013

I'm a massive nail polish fan and i will admit I'm not exactly one to sticking to certain colours for certain months, however there are some shades i like to wear more. As Courtney kindly asked me to do a guest post i thought this would be a good opportunity to share my top winter polish picks.

Barry M - Raspberry £2.99 //  This is a lovely deep raspberry red that really screams Christmas to me. I'm a big fan of Barry M polishes as they've got the formula spot on for the cost as they last really well on the nails, apply easily and this shade doesn't stain my nails like some reds can. I'm not particularly one for red nails (i don't know why i just feel a bit uncomfortable with red nails) but this is certainly a shade i reach for once Autumn hits as it's just such a festive shade.
Models Own - Gun grey £5 //  A black with a twist, this polish has lots of little silver flecks in it which gives it a gun metal finish. There's something about the silver flecks in this polish that personally for me makes it a lot easier to wear than just black polish as it doesn't come across as harsh.

Sally Hansen Gem crush - Big Money £6.99 //  Now obviously in Winter there's Christmas and Christmas usually means more parties and excuses to dress up or just be a bit more sparkly, hence why this polish is on my list. I'm not a glitter fan but there are some polishes that are an exception and this is one of them, packed with different sized gold glitter it makes any mani special.

Models Own - Nude Beige £5 //  When wearing big cream chunky jumpers and fur i love wearing nude nails. This nude polish is a little darker than some which is why I've picked it for this list as i think it looks especially pretty in Winter.
Models Own - Purple ash £5 //  In my eyes this list wouldn't be complete without some kind of purple polish in it, hence purple ash. Unlike typical purple polishes i love how this one isn't a bright bold purple and is almost nude like. This is a shade that may go overlooked but i personally think it looks wonderful on the nails, especially as a casual shade in the colder months.
Barry M - Diamond glitter £2.99 //  If your wanting a bit of silver sparkle to your winter mani's then this is your guy. This is one of those glitter polishes you can pair with so many different shades it's unreal, i especially like it over a light baby pink. I must be honest i do wear this throughout the year, however i chose to put it in this list as it adds a specialness to your mani yet is easy to wear for normal days too.

L'Oreal color riche - Boudoir rose £5 //  Again another polish i wear a lot as i am crazy about nude polishes but i think every gal needs a pretty nude pink. This shade goes wonderfully with everyday looks to special occasions as it's such an elegant shade. I also picked this polish over the many nude pinks i own as you only need two coats and the formula dries quickly so it's not a huge pain to apply like some light nude shades can be
