This dress is infact a shirt which is a size 20, i bought this ages ago and found it today whilst rumaging through a box of clothes i'd totally forgotten about. Obviously despite my own insecurities i even know that i am not a size 20 so to make this shirt look a bit nicer instead of just a long gangly thing, i've belted it at the waist. I've allowed it to be a little ruched above the belt to shorten the length of the shirt and making it look a little more flattering on me. The ruffles down the middle of the shirt add that bit of an eyecatcher as without it, the shirt would be just your plain average shirt. I think shirt dresses can look really sophisticated and would be perfect work wear, especially if worn with a black blazer to keep the monochrome look or a brightly colour one to make this outfit more eyecatching.
I can't believe that this is the last day i August and tomorrow begins the start of September. I'm restarting my AS levels again this year and school starts on properly on the 8th, can you believe it.. how quickly has Summer sped by? They've changed the dress code from 'smart casual' to 'smart wear', so i need to be buying a lot more of shirts like the one in the photos above. I actually don't know how i'm going to cope with the weather though, it's about 15degrees here today and i am freeeezing, so when the temperatures drop to like below 5 degrees or something crazy like that i have no idea how i'm going to still manage going into school for my lessons when all i'll want to do is be at home in a hoody instead of in 'smart wear' Anyways rant over.

I have a habit of buying stuff in bigger sizes and styling them as dresses too hah. You look lovely :) x
I love the idea of buying things in larger sizes to wear differently. I tend to size up with cardigans and jumpers anyway, but sizing a shirt up is great! Good luck with your new school term, can't believe the summer is gone haha! xx
love the dress, the ruffles are so cute & the belt goes perfectly! x
