Chi Chi Angelica Dress

Thursday 27 June 2013

image image image image image image
Dress: (*) Chi Chi
Earrings: New Look
So this stunn-ing dress was sent to me by the lovely people over at Chi Chi. The dress is absolutely beautiful, don't you agree? Perfect for evening wear if your going to anywhere from a evening party, to cocktail party, to even just out clubbing, this dress is sure to draw peoples attention. The salmon-coral colour is beautiful, and I think it's really complimentary against my pale skin, really making the colour pop. The floral lace bodice is such a subtle, yet lovely touch really drawing attention to the top half of the dress as it goes all the way around, but with the lining of the dress and the skater skirt style, the bottom half isn't forgotten about either, and it's lovely and ruched at the waist. I've really tried to show off this dress, by showing how much it flows and how easy it is to move in. I can't fault this dress apart from one tiny little thing. The zip was an absolute nightmare to do up, nylon zips usually are, but it was a two person job to get it up and even then it was difficult. But besides that I love this dress.
I decided to not wear a jacket with this dress (apologies for the fat arms) but I didn't want to hide any part of this dress as I thought if was to wear it out on a night out, I most likely wouldn't take a jacket with me, probably a black pashmina actually to just dress the dress up a tad more (not that it needs it) Jewellery wise I decided to keep it simple too by just adding a simple dangly pair of gold earrings.

ISWAI 5Ways Religion Tee

Wednesday 26 June 2013

xxx xxxx x xx xxxxx xxxxxx
Blazer: Vintage
Tee: (*) ISWAI
Skirt: New Look
Lipstick: Rimmel Red Diva (500)

This gorgeous tee was sent to me from ISWAI, a fashion brand by Caggie Dunlop from Made In Chelsea. This tee is in their limited collection '5Ways' and is one of their first ideas to be sold by ISWAI. Some of the pieces on their website really are beautiful, and this tee, despite being gifted to me, is something i would consider buying. I really like how the crosses are situated on the tee, and i really think in this case, less is more. The simple colours of the black all over colour of the tee, and the crosses being a white-grey colour creates a fabulous look.
Personally, i decided to make the tee the main look of this outfit, for publicity reasons for the brand, it'd be a shame to hide such a gorgeous top. I've kept it simple by wearing a black tube skirt and a bright red blazer, which draws attention to the top half of the outfit, focusing on the tee. I even got asked about this top when in Sainsburys earlier! Coincidence? I think not. It genuinely is just a gorgeous top which can be worn many ways, whether that be dressed up, or down.

You shoot me down, but i won't fall

Monday 24 June 2013

Blazer: Topshop via Charity Shop
Top: H&M via Charity Shop
Undertop & Skirt: New Look
My mum went and bought this lace top from a local Charity shop, she got another one exactly the same, just in black, so yes, that's a nice little addition to my wardrobe, thanks mumma!  It's a lovely colour, the pastel blue is such a nice colour, and it'll be a fabulous colour to wear this summer. I'm wearing a black under top under the lace top to protect my modesty and keep me warm too. I decided that this nude blazer would look good, focusing colour on the top half of this outfit and keeping the bottom half plain and simple, but i think that works quite well. The blazer and the lace top really compliment eachother, creating a really soft look. I'm not wearing any jewellery today, instead i decided to plait my hair as i thought this would look better and wouldn't be too much.

I started getting dressed/showered/etc to do these outfit photos at like 10am this morning, it's nearly 6pm and i'm only just starting it. I've spent a couple hours asleep, but i'm not best pleased haha. Mentally i could of gone on a 10 mile run today and then done 3 hours shopping and more, but physically, well, i've done zilch. Meh. I'm really struggling with my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome atm, stupid condition.

I have been here many times before

Thursday 20 June 2013

xxx xxxx x xxxx xxxxx xxxxxx
Top: Carboot Sale
Kimono: Marks & Spencer via Charity Shop
Necklace: Ebay
Lips: Rimmel Kate Moss 107
So i really like the lilac colour of the skirt and on the kimono, i think that's what attracted me to them both when purchasing them, they pastel colour is just so soft and inviting. Quite a feminine outfit today, i feel a little like a doll actually. I'm so glad i bought this kimono, it really is the perfect summer accessory. I got away with wearing this outfit today as it's kind of warm here in Hertfordshire today, very close & humid. This peace sign necklace adds a nice little touch to the outfit. Trying to keep the jewellery to minimum just by adding this as the top and skirt are two different textures and then there is the floral print of the kimono, so anything else would of been too much.

I went out for lunch with a couple friends today, first time in forever that i left the house without my mum AND i got a side salad (wasn't that hungry) so hurray for healthy eating!! So my laptop is well and truly dying, the touchpad doesn't work, nor does the CD drive and my charger is done. My laptop is also incredibly slow too. So currently my dad is trying to find a new laptop for me to buy, because if i have no laptop, i can't properly blog, which therefore means i will cry.

xx xxx

This is what i carry with me in my bag, and when i checked my bag, besides the iPad and phone this is all that was in there, but 9 times out of 10, i'd of put my phone and iPad in there too obviously. These days we'd be lost without technology haha. The prices are roughly right, they are very close to what i paid for them if not exact.

Bag: (£19.99) So this bag is the one i use the most, it's black and i have a love for things black, especially bags,  i just think they always look the classiest. It's got a zip pocket on the outside and on the inside, as well as a little pouch for my phone, and for little bits. In general it's quite a light and it's large enough to fit in all my necessary bits and bobs.

Glasses: (£99.99) Because i'm blind. Well no, i'm not blind, that was a slight exaggeration. But i do struggle to see, and should wear glasses 24/7 but i barely wear them as i just more concious in them. Though, i do  take 1 of the 2 pairs i have everywhere just incase i can't see something, which is often.

Deodorant: (£2.35) I think whether your male of female, you should always carry some form of deodorant on you, you never know when your going to be stuck in a hot stuffy area, and no one wants the embarrassment of being a tad on the smelly side.

Perfume: (£40.00) My scent. I love the smell of this, it just is everything i'd look for in a perfume, not too overpowering, but just right.

Sunglasses: (£15.00) Not that i ever really need them in England, but sometimes the sun does randomly appear here and it can be blinding, so sunglasses are always handy to have on you.

Sweets: (50p) You've just come across the 'Sweet Queen'. I'm a major sweetaholic (no i'm not diabetic), i just love sweets and i always have some form of sweets around me hehe.

iPad: (£349.99) It's so 21st century, and so typical to have one. But i have one and i love it. It's so handy to have whether your on a train journey, or a long car ride, or even just in a hospital waiting room. Playing games, or creating a blog post to pass the time, as well as being able to listen to music. Also, if your in a WiFi spot, you can access the internet. Personally, i love my iPad.

Diary: (£9.99) The essential every year buy. For someone like me who personally has so many appointments, i'd be lost without my diary. I think writing in your diary/planner is a lot more of a better way to record your dates as opposed to on the phone, because if you forget to set an alarm, your stuffed.

Pen: (99p) Always carry a pen on you!! What if you meet someone famous, and they offer to sign something of yours, and you haven't got a pen.. well wouldn't you feel stupid.

Nail File: (50p) Whenever i don't have a nail file on me, i always have the one nail, that catches my tights and creates a big hole usually when i'm trying to look good. So yes, i've learnt to always carry a nail file on me nowadays to avoid any annoying holes in the tights.

Nail Varnish: (£2.99) Just incase any nail varnish decides to chip, always carry the varnish colour your wearing with you. I'm currently wearing yellow.

Mental Health Card: (free) For emergencies only, but it's handy to carry it on me at all times, as i never know when a MH emergency may strike.

Ehlers Danlos Card: (£2.50) Now this i must take everywhere with me, if for whatever reason i'm in an accident and have to go to hospital, they need to know of my connective tissue disorder!!

Money: (£11.23) Yes, currently i'm poor, carrying around a pathetic amount of money with me, i know.

Key: (£9.99) Would be very stuck without this, everyone needs their keys to get back into their house. Just remember Mr Zip of BGT song 'Where me keys, Where my phone', before leaving the house!!

Purse: (£30.00) A birthday present from my brother back in December. I love it. It's got 6 card components, a zip in the middle where i keep my two most important cards being Mental Health Card and my EDS card. It easily holds notes, but can't hold too many coins, which is good, because no one likes a purse full of coppers.

Paracetomol: (£1.00) Because chronic headaches suck, and paracetamol is the only thing to get rid of them!

Eyeliner: (£2.99) I'd much rather take eyeliner out with me as opposed to foundation/bronzer, for me, it's all about the eyes.

Carmex: (£2.99) Dry & chapped lips have to be one of the worst things, so carrying this will make your lips moisturised and give them a lovely little gloss look, making you feel more confident so quickly.

Plasters: (99p) I'm the clumsiest person ever, i'd be stupid not to carry plasters around with me, because i'm forever hurting myself.

Receipts: (Free) I have so many receipts in my bag that i probably should have a good clear out

Phone: (£199.99) I just had to get rid of my blackberry, it constantly froze, didn't work properly, and was doing my head in, so i went and bought myself this beauty. It's quick, it's efficient, and it does everything my blackberry failed to do. Who am i kidding, without my phone, i'd be lost!

Lipsticks: (£35.00) Both stolen off my mum (shhh she doesn't know) I love them both. The Dior is a deep reddy-purple colour which really suits my complexion, and the Yves Rocher lipstick is just a tiny bit darker than my actual lip colour. I'm a lipstick fiend.

Blog Notepad: (£5.00) I never know when a blog idea is going to come to me, i may just be sitting there, then boom, outfit post ideas, a long with what i want to buy and wear to a party etc.. and i need somewhere to jot this down!

Total price of bag & contents: £843.97

What to wear to a Christening

Tuesday 18 June 2013

A bit of a different post, but someone requested that i do a post on 'what to wear to a Christening' as they're going to one in July. I was more than happy to oblige and below are 3 looks that i have put together which i think would be great and appropriate for a Christening. Everything featured is currently stocked on their online stores.

LOOK 1
look 1

I don't know why, but i think for a Christening, you can never go wrong with a maxi dress. It covers you up quite a lot and considering your going to be in a church you've got to dress respectfully as you don't want to be seen as offending anyone. This is quite a simple look. The pinky-coral colour is beautiful and is a great colour on the majority of skin tones. It has a high neck-line and goes in at the waist. meaning that it'll sit really nice on you. Considering your arms would be on show, a cute black/grey kimono is a great piece of outerwear, lighter than a typical jacket or blazer, but should still allow you to be warm, as well as fashionable. Accessory wise i stuck to a silver theme, with dangly earrings as the jewellery element. The block colour dress and kimono is enough colour, and any other accessory would be too overpowering, a simple pair of silver heels just brings this outfit together, creating a appropriate, fashionable outfit for a Christening.

LOOK 2
look 2

When attending a Christening, white is usually the most seen colour that the guests are wearing. Bearing this in mind, i thought i'd incorporate a bit of white into this outfit. This blouse is beautiful, it's got lovely little detailing around the cuff and the bow along with the frills is just so attractive, really making this blouse stand out. To jazz this up, and to steer away from the typical 'all white' i thought this green tube skirt, with the blouse tucked in a little really gives a great bit of oomph to the outfit, making the blouse and skirt pop off eachother, making this a fantastic outfit. A little gold knot belt would just add a nice touch to this outfit as opposed to blinging it up with jewellery, because you've got remember that it has to be appropriate for a Christening. The gold really looks great against green and white, so really compliments the outfit. I decided on white court shoes to top this outfit off, simple and sophisticated.

LOOK 3
look 3

This dress is beautiful, i love how it looks like the bottom has been dipped into blue dye. I think it'd look great for a Christening, as it's got the classical white colour incorporated, just with a twist. Despite the white dress with the blue at the bottom, i decided to go for nude accessories in the form of heels, earrings and a blazer. I think the nude would really compliment the blue, and wouldn't be too overpowering, whereas if i'd decided to make blue the prime colour, you may end up looking like a blue berry. The heels have the ankle strap, which isn't something i'd usually pick to go with any outfit, but i think with this dress and the blazer, it would really look good with the dress. I've kept the jewellery element simple again by just adding some simple dangly earrings.
