GHD Air Review & Hairstyle

Tuesday 31 December 2013

So i was sent this product by the lovely people over at GHD to review and create some form of hairstyle with it. It's a beautiful product and definitely something i'd recommend you to buy. You'll find out why if you keep reading.

The packaging was really gorgeous, the box it was in was prim and proper and really attracts you to the product, making it obvious that it's infact a hairdryer that you'll be purchasing. Once opening the box, the hairdryer and the parts that you attach to it are set out nicely and organised making it easy to find what you want when looking for a specific part. The hair dryer has a medium setting and also a fast setting so you can adjust the hair dryer to blow at whichever speed you prefer. It also has the option of being hot or very hot, as well having a cool button to so that you have the exact heat you after to create the look you want.

DSCF4025 This is me with wet hair before brushing my hair or using the hair dryer on it.

DSCF4027 Using the tangle teezer to get all the knots out of my hair before blow drying it.

DSCF4029 Hair's all brushed, now time to use the product.

DSCF4035 Blow drying my hair just trying to get it to a damp stage.

DSCF4037 Using the brush with the hairdryer to create a straight hair look.

DSCF4041 Blow dryed my hair and created this straight hair look, now to create something with my fringe.

DSCF4042
I decided to try to create a quiff so by using the brush and the hairdryer together, to create some volume to hopefully hold a small quiff.

DSCF4045
Ta Da! This is the result. A relatvely straight hair look with a small quiff. The quiff didn't need clipping to stay in place, and has sat really nicely for a good couple of hours without hair spray or a clip.

Personally, i love this hair dryer, not only does it dry your hair quicker than other hair driers i've used in the past, it also dries it really nicely leaving your hair feeling all fluffy. It's not heavier than a normal hair dryer so it's not to heavy on the wrists, (this is coming from someone with two broken wrists at the moment haha) This really is a great product and something i've advise hair lovers to invest in.

Alex & Sharma's Party Clutches (Guest Post)

Monday 30 December 2013

6 Party Clutches You'll Love This Season

It’s officially Christmas! And it couldn’t have come any sooner. We understand the demands of the season, and one of them is to attend many a Christmas party. Stuck with a basic clutch that does nothing for your LBD? Not to worry, we’ve consulted the latest trends to ensure you’ll be carrying the cutest clutch in the room!

The playing card clutch
clutch 1
A real quirky piece hand-crafted by Greek designer Urania Gazelli from plexi glass. Fashionistas trotted around fashion week with their boxy playing card clutches, some of them being personalised with their own initials. A Urania Gazelli clutch will run you a hefty £800-£1000, so the key is to take inspiration and search for a party bag that’s graphic and kitschy.

The Holographic clutch
holo clutch 3
The hologram trend has been everywhere this season, and the classic clutch was no exception. Petite and structured, large and slouchy, there really are a plethora of holographic clutches to choose from. New look is at the fore front, but ASOS and American Apparel stock a good range too.

Lunch bag clutch
lunch bag clutch 3
First seen on the AWa12 catwalks of Jil Sander, a wave of obsession quickly ensued. Everyone wanted a piece of her uniquely simple take on the clutch. There are tons (and I mean tons) of DIYs on the internet, and it’s definitely worth the time to get your hands on a look-a-like gem that seems rather spacey, so you won’t be losing anything on a night out. Alternatively, New Look has some sleek lunch bag clutches for under £10, and Motel Rocks has a shiny silver one to get you in the party mood.

Clear clutch
clear clutch 4 Ever the source of stylish innovation, the clutch has had a minimalist brush-up this year. The clear clutch may make you a bit choosey on what you put in there, and you may find yourself colour coordinating your iPhone case with your purse because you’re “wearing your clear clutch today”. Its transparency allows you to get creative by displaying a bright and glitzy purse inside. You could even get your DIY on and make your own transparent clutch. Don’t just limit yourself to clear though; you can get bright neons too!

The oversized clutch
oversized clutch This’ll bring some much needed practicality to a rather unpractical accessory. Not only can you stuff a decent amount of things in there, they come in fresh colours, prints and materials too. All whilst adding a touch of LA diva to your Christmas party outfit.

Slogan clutch
slogan clutch 4
If you’ve got something to say, stick it on your clutch. Seen on many a celeb and blogger, the slogan is a unique and quirky addition to any party outfit. You can rest assured that nobody will be sporting the
same clutch as you, and it could also prove to be a great conversation starter. Sounds like a win win party situation to me.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Outfit

Wednesday 25 December 2013

x xx xxx xxxx xxxxx

I always dress up for Christmas Day, i don't know, i'm the only one in my family who does, but it's like a tradition i've set myself. Today i'm wearing this little black dress which i got from a little boutique, i absolutely love this dress, it's so classy. I love how it's a one shouldered dress and goes around the neck. I know my cast doesn't really go with this outfit unfortunately though haha.

Anyways, MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU LOVELY BUNCH! I hope you all got what you wanted from Santa!

Charlotte's Wishlist (Guest Post)

Tuesday 24 December 2013

courtney1

Hello! I'm Charlotte from Colours & Carousels and today I'm doing a wee wish list post for the lovely Courtney.

1. Urban Decay Naked 3 - The Naked palettes have been all over the blogosphere ever since they launched, but I hadn't been too fussed until the third edition appeared. The shades are a lot rosier and I think they'll suit me a lot better than the previous shade offerings. As usual it's a considerably more than I'd like to pay for an eyeshadow palette, but maybe I'll treat myself.

2. Cath Kidston penguin pjs - I love a good ol' cosy pair of pjs, especially if they have adorable little penguins on! These days I'm a little bit penguin mad so these are perfect for lounging about in.

3. Supernatural season 1-8 box set - Supernatural is my latest telly addiction but I'm veeeeery slowly making my way through it. I'd love to get the DVD box set so I can just stick a disc on and watch hours at once. Plenty of entertainment!

4. Red Vans - For my 18th my lovely boyfriend treated me to a gorgeous pair of mint green Vans which I have worn to death. Seeing as they're barely off my feet I'm thinking about investing in another pair in a bit of a darker colour so that I can mix it up a bit. They're so comfy, definitely worth the money.

5. Insolence by Guerlain is one of my all time favourite perfumes. My mum got a little sample of this a few years ago and I've been in love with it ever since. It smells so much like Parma Violets which is one of my favourite scents but sadly the pink edition (my fave) is hella expensive. Plus, I already have loads of other perfumes that I need to use up first!

What's on your wish list at the moment?

Jenna's Must Have Tartan Pieces (Guest Post)

Monday 23 December 2013

Hi I'm Jenna and I blog over at What Jenna Did Next. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to guest post on Courtney's blog and decided to share with you a few of my must have tartan pieces.

As I currently live in China, the air has only recently turned chilly and that's when I started to look for warmer additions to my wardrobe. After seeing tartan's recent renaissance on many of my favourite blogs, I was hooked! It really is a classic print that reminds me of crispy British winters.

My favourite item is definitely the vintage etsy dress. I'm a big fan of anything vintage and feel this would be the perfect Christmas Day dress if teamed with some thick tights, ankle boots and a cardie. I also love the Vivienne Westwood satchel (in fact I want the whole range). At £174 it's by far the priciest item on my list, but it's a truly classic bag and like many designer collabs gives us a chance to get our hands on a designer piece at the fraction of the usual price.

What are you favourite pieces? Are you loving or loathing the tartan trend? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Chloe's A/W OOTDS (Guest Post)

Saturday 21 December 2013

I'm Chloe and I blog over at unwrittenhollywood.com. On my blog I like to post a range of review's from beauty to lifestyle, while I also do regular outfit's of the day. Showing you all my bargain's and how I dress to all the trends. For this quest post I thought I'd share with Courtney's readers what I've been wearing recently as we enter into the colder months.

OUTFIT ONE // COAT c/o URBAN OUTFITTERS, SHIRT CHARITY SHOP, BAG RIVERISLAND, LEGGINGS PRIMARK, SHOES c/o NEW LOOK
This is outfit is not yet up on my blog, But I was kindly gifted this beautiful fur collar coat from Urban Outfitters when I attended their event a few weeks ago. The coat instantly add's a bit of 'glam' with the long fit and the beautiful fur collar (which is super warm) I paired the coat with a very simple leggings and over-sized shirt for a very casual look.

OUTFIT TWO // COAT TOPSHOP, DRESS PRIMARK, FUR ADD ON ASDA, SHOES TOPSHOP*, NECKLACE PRIMARK
This outfit I wore the other day and It was one of them outfit's which by magic manage to come together and just look good. I bagged these bargain boots from Topshop last week for a cheeky £15, and after wearing Black ankle boots for so long I was worried I wouldn't be able to style them up too well. But after a bit of messing around it's all about allowing the boots steal the show within the outfit. I also wore my new primark dress. I love this dress so much as the leather sleeves add just a great add on and texturing to the outfit.

OUTFIT THREE // LEGGINGS PRIMARK, BOOTS c/o NEW LOOK, JUMPER VINTAGE, SHIRT, VINTAGE, CHAIN PRIMARK, BAG CHANEL
I do love this outfit, I wore this a while back, and got a lot of attention for it. I've never really been a fan of the collar jumper style. However this look isn't your typical girly styled up one as I've used very dark and light contrasts to make the outfit look very broken up with the collar really making a statement. Also another bargain is this jumper which only cost me £2!

so, this is what I've been wearing as we entered autumn! I must admit I do love my colder month's for the fact you can texture, wear pretty scarfs and coat and just make a bit more effort. If you'd like to see more from me feel free to check me out below!

Areeba's Fashion Fails (Guest Post)

Friday 20 December 2013

Hey all, I'm Areeba from I Have A Messy Bun blog. I have a lifestyle {aka anything-living-everything-awesomeness} blog. I have cray cray hair and huge love for food!
I'm sharing my fashion fails stories on Courtney's pretty blog. I always suck at  fashion but when I see lovely fashion bloggers out there, I feel like I WANNA DO THIS FASHION! I'm great at pairing my jammies with anything. Once I went to my aunt's birthday in jammies. Gahh fashin police, you should arrest me ASAP!

I went out on a treasure hunt with my little cousins {found nothing but stones and dead leaves} in my pjs & poncho.

I don't mind wearing socks with flip flops. My friends hate it, considering that it's a fashion failure. Love, it's comfortable and I believe there are many peeps in this world who do this. Okay, this might be your pet peeve in fashion!

I regret making this my Facebook profile. Who wears sunglasses in late evening while in car? Ohh I did. Maybe I'm just so..... cool?

Pink polka dotted nails
Not my nail.
When I saw this on Pinterest, I told myself that I'm gonna do that anyhow! It seems pretty simple but it's a BOMB! You never know that what's the result. I wish I had superb qualities of nail art. Why I suck at this? God knows better.

That's how my nail art ended up. This doesn't look like polka dots, pimples maybe? You guess..

I have a messy bun. I have crazy hair. I actually wore this hairstyle to my friend's party. Friends, be proud of me!
Have you ever suffered a fashion failure? Lezzbehonest!

Happy Birthday To Me

Wednesday 18 December 2013

y yy yyy yyyy yyyyy yyyyyy
Shirt: Charity Shop
Skirt: Primark
I absolutely love this shirt, it's definitely my most favourite out of the ones in my wardrobe, and to think i got it at such a bargain from a charity shop. I really love the horizontal pattern on it, and i think it looks kind of Middle Eastern, and i'm really loving the look of this shirt. The maroon and the gold colours really compliment eachother very well, making this skirt really flattering. It's actually quite a long shirt, so i've tucked it into this maroon coloured tube skirt. I think the colour match is more or less exact to that of the colour on the shirt. I didn't think this outfit needed any jewellery as the pattern on the shirt is so eyecatching, but i probably could of worn a gold ring with it.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!! Can't believe i'm 20!!
