Jumper: New Look. Skirt: H&M. Tights: Topshop

So, this is yesterdays outfit that i never actually got round to posting. I bet your all thinking, ohmygod she's crazy wearing a jumper in the 27 degree UK heat we had yesterday right? Suprisingly i was kind of cold, but i think it could of been because i was majorly tired and in one of those 'everything sucks' kind of moods. Anyways, how gorgeous is this jumper? I tried it on in one of their bigger stores but the size i tried i was way to big, and they didn't have it in any of my local store OR online. I was so annoyed, so i kept checking the site, and finally i managed to order it, and in the correct size! Definately worth the money, it's pretty, it's colourful and it's warm, the perfect winter knit. I've worn it with a black tube skirt underneath.

Everythings kind of suckish for me at the moment. Unbelieveable amount of stress, many medical problems accompinied by copius amount of hospital appointments, arguments with everyone and just general low self esteem. So i apologise for my bland facial expressions in these photos. What do you all think of my new scenery? Never even considered taking photos here before, but i'm thinking against this brick wall could be the next big thing for me! I'm meant to have double health & social lessons this afternoon, but i'm on a bit of a downward spiral that mothers not allowing me to go in, and instead she's given me a bit of money to go shopping with Sam to try take my mind off everything. I mean tomorrow, i have an x-ray and an ECG. Hopefully next week will be a bit better instead. I'll post a few photos of some things i buy today, if anything. Enjoy the heat UK'ers!

Blazer: Primark. Blouse: Charity Shop. Skirt: H&M. Tights: Topshop.

Not gonna lie, i think this smart outfit is pretty snazzy! Easily the smartest outfit i've ever put together, proud moment. This grey blazer i was unsure about wearing with a white blouse and black tube skirt, i think a black blazer would of been the safest option, as you can't really go wrong then, but thought i'd try this grey blazer instead. I love pussybow blouses they're so cute and inoocent, yet so smart too! I always write about how a black tube skirt is my 'safe' item, just can't really go wrong with it, i always just feel that it makes me look a bit bulky, so has to be worn with a cardigan or blazer to cover my insecurities! Finally got around to painting my nails too, a nice pure red, goes beautifully with this outfit as well.

Todays been a bit of a downer for me, i don't even know why, i can't put my finger on it, but you know when it's just 'one of those days', unneccesairily stressed and upset about just everything and nothing at the same time? Well yeah, that has been my day, Sigh. Luckily my boyfriend being really supportive in many ways, probably without even realising he's being helpful to be honest, but i really am lucky to have him, he's my knight in shining armour! Anyways, it was Open evening at school tonight, and i volunteered to help out with the Health & Social Care department which wasn't too bad. Only downside was having to spend 3 constant hours talking about calories, the sugar content in food and what you'd have to do to burn off a certain meal. Like can you believe that in 1litre of coke there is 60 teaspoons of sugar, 60, times like these i'm glad i drink Diet Coke!!

No regrets

Blazer: Tesco. Jumper+Tights:Topshop. Skirt: H&M.

Another freezing cold day in England yesterday, according to my friends who didn't seem to feel the cold i'm 'crazy'. They were all wearing short sleeved shirts, and then theres with me with a long sleeved top on, a jumper AND a blazer and yes, still cold. Ridiculous right? Also, my reason for this post title being 'no regrets; is referring to Dappy's new single, (have a listen.) which is a really good track! Thanks to a friend who i spent all day in lessons with yesterday, this song did not leave mine and a couple other girls heads for the whole day and hours after i got home too. *thaaaanks emma!*

This skirt is a new purchase from H&M. The colours so intriguing, it's not red, yet it's not orange, it's that odd inbetween colour which just makes it so quirky, and therefore a must have. Also came in a variety of different colours but this was the one that kept catching my eye. It fits and sits really nicely, exactly  where it's meant to, i was overly pleased with this purchase! This oversized jumper is something i've had for a good while but because it sits quite weirdly when allowed to hang, i find it so difficult pairing it with pieces of clothing.. until i bought this skirt. Tucked in and allowed to ruche at the top gives this smart look a bit of a laidback style therefore not appearing to serious. So onto the blazer... well i picked this up from my local supermarket in a dash to find new cheap school clothes before the term started. The only blazer there that fitted me, a boys black blazer in a size 11-12yrs. To be fair, i actually like it, it's totally different to the womans blazers around the High Street!

In other news, i recieved my first Glossybox a few days ago and thought because it was my first, a post was in order! I must say i was pleasently suprised with the contents, all products that i recieved will be used! Perfect for me really!

Dress: River Island. Blazer: Primark. Belt: New Look. Tights: Topshop

I actually think i've got to grips with the smart attire for school quite nicely! So yes, this is one of my outfits, todays outfit infact. This dress is a new recent purchase and is from the Chelsea Girl range at River Island. It came with an underneath slip of the matching colour so that the holes in the actual dress dont go through to show exact flesh. I think the colours really nice, i don't really know what colour it is exactly? A light orangey-beige, or a light brown? What do you think? The pattern of the holes on the dress is really cute too. The blazer, £10 from Primark, what a bargain! The blazer fits really nicely and is really good quality which is always a plus. I wasn't too keen on the outfit without a belt so i've worn one, but perhaps the dress without a belt will grow on me, who knows. Apologies for disgusting chipped nail varnish too, i really need to get some nail varnish remover in!

I'm sorry i've disappeared for so long, it's been a ridiculous time since i last blogged! I just haven't had the time since being back at school and everything, it's exhausted me soso much and i've had a lot going on medical and health wise. On the plus side, i'm so excited to be back at school learning, i'm enjoying my a-level subjects and actually enjoying doing the work! I'm studying double health & social care and psychology, both subjects which i'm really interested in as hopefully in the future i'd like to go into a career which helps people in some way, shape or form. But yeah, i've been really busy trying to get involved with the school and keeping on top of work, i've even applied to be a prefect! (Keep your fingers crossed for me!) Hopefully if i get it it'll do wonders for my confidence and make me feel part of something instead of totally useless! Going to a fancy dress party tonight, i'm really looking forward to just having a break and a drink with some good friends who i haven't seen in ages! I'm going as an american cop, i'll be sure to post
photos for y'all! Rightio, i probably should go, i've got double psychology this afternoon. CYA.

Top: New Look. Blazer: Miss Selfridge. Skirt+Tights: Topshop. Necklace: Tiffany.

A simple long sleeved black t-shirt tucked into any skirt and the chances of you going wrong are quite slim. Black just goes with everything and i think i unintentionally include the colour into everyone of my outfits, discluding the tights. I seem to have so many pieces of clothing that i hardly wear, this white blazer being one of them. I just never really thought about how to wear a white blazer, which is quite loose due to the material it's made out of. But yes, it was once again one of those items i bought on a whim after seeing it in a magazine looking exceptionally good on Fearne Cotton. I think the colour nude or light pink, whatever you want to call it looks really flattering against white or black. For example, if i wasn't wearing the blazer the outfit would still be acceptable with the black top, likewise if the top was white. Silver jewellery in my opinion looks best with neutral colours such as these but i've worn a brightly coloured rose ring just to add a bit of colour.

I didnt even have a reason to get dressed today, i just felt so ugly that i felt i had to, it paid off though because my aunty and uncle popped over. Anyways, I don't know how i feel at the moment, a bit lost and lonely really. I do think it's the anxiety about going back to school if i'm honest. I've attempted my introductory assignments and i know the stuff i just can't word it on paper or concentrate properly, it's so frustrating! I just need to get back into a routine and just start the school a fresh with new subjects and meet new people. It's pathetic just how scared i am, feel like a 5 year old all over again. Ohwell, things can only improve right? See... positive thinking... how good of me!

Dress: New Look Tights: Topshop Ring: River Island Nail Varnish: Models Own, Mushroom

This shift dress was one of those items that i saw and had to have, yet despite it being in my wardrobe for a long while, since the Spring i think it hasn't been worn. How bad of me! My reason for not wearing it as actually pretty pathetic to be honest, i just never thought it would suit me. Yes, probably should of thought about that BEFORE i buyed it but ohwell. Not that it just wouldn't suit me, i wasn't entirely sure what i'd wear it with, although i'm so glad i remembered i had this, will be perfect to wear to Sixth Form to meet they're 'smart wear' dress code. Red always goes perfectly with gold jewellery! It makes the outfit look a little more sophisticated too. I haven't overdone it with the jewellery, i've kept it simple with a gold rhinestone ring.

My last weekend of Summer, can you believe it? After all this time i've had free doing nothing and being bored, it's now officially my last weekend of freedom, and i still haven't started my introductory assignments. Woops.

Tube Skirt Smart Looks

Friday 2 September 2011

I go back to school on Thursday 8th September, it's shocking just how quickly Summer has gone. Regular readers of my blog will know that i recently wrote about how they've changed the dress code at the Sixth Form i go to from 'smart casual' to 'smart wear' which means SHOPPING. I'm trying really hard to save money at the moment, so i'm trying to create smart outfits for around £50 using a key item.

black tube skirt

The trusty black tube skirt. All girls must have one, as they aren't just comfortable, but they can be used for any occassion and are so easy to accessorize. I've created 3 looks below using this tube skirt as the key item. This skirt is £7.99 and from New Look. I haven't put shoes with these outfits because that would increase the price limit to an extent that most people would not feel comfortable on spending for an outfit.

LOOK 1

Skirt, £7.99. Ring, £6.50. Blazer, £14.99. Brooch, £3.99. Top, £15.00. Total Price. £48.47.

A very simplistic smart look. I suppose you could say it's your 'typical' smart look as there is a blazer and a smart skirt incorporated into this outfit. The red top would be worn untucked so it drapes over the top of the tube skirt nicely. The 3 piece ring set has 3 rings which are the colours gold, silver and bronze. The rings colour scheme matches that of the owl brooch that would be pinned to the breast of the blazer for all to see.

LOOK 2

Skirt, £7.99. Blouse, £30.00. Belt, £9.99. Ring, £3.99 £1.99. Total Price: £49.97

A sophisticated smart look featuring a sheer pussybow blouse from River Island. The blouse would be tucked in nicely to the tube skirt and allowed to ruche a little. The red belt would bring the outfit together, bringing in the waist and also adding some colour to this outfit. The ring is a nice piece of jewellery which doesn't overshadow the outfit and fits well. You can't really go wrong with a blouse and a tube skirt, you will always achieve class, accessories just give the outfit the oomph it needs.

LOOK 3

Skirt, £7.99. Ring, £3.99. NailPaint, £2.99. Necklace, £3.99. Jumper, £32.00. Total Price: £50.96

A casual look, but smart none the less. Maybe not suitable for a job interview, but i personally would wear this outfit as a smart look, because it allows you to also be warm due to the jumper as well as looking smart. The jumper would not be tucked into the tube skirt as it would not sit very well. There is gold button detail on one of the shoulders of this jumper and that's why i've made made a gold necklace and ring be key jewellery pieces in this outfit. White nail varnish makes the most casual outfits look elegant, i don't know what it is about white nail varnish, but it just has that effect.
